Liberty Bell Agency was initially formed in 1993 as a Pennsylvania title issuing agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company; focused on the complicated titles related to foreclosures and other mortgage default services. The company’s earliest operational area encompassed the five Pennsylvania counties comprising the Philadelphia Metro area.
We started providing direct title search and information research services beginning in January 1996, and in 2001 the company expanded its operational area to include all 67 counties in Pennsylvania; making Liberty Bell Agency one of the largest providers of title search information for the Default Services business sector in Pennsylvania. In that year, the company also signed on as an agent for both First American Title Insurance Company and Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.
In 2005, Liberty Bell Agency became the first title company to successfully record a Deed electronically through the internet directly with the Recorder of Deeds office in Philadelphia, and in 2006, we launched our proprietary CERTaintytm Tax Search Solutions. In that same year, we became one of the first users of the Ramquest closing platform in Pennsylvania; providing our customers with real-time online access to their closing information through our ECHOAccess web portal.
By 2011 we expanded our operational area to include every county in New Jersey, and in 2016 we expanded our underwriters to include Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, and Chicago Title Insurance Company.
We now remain nicely positioned as one of the few large independent full service title insurance agencies who provide direct locally-sourced title search services in this region. Our goal is to be nationally recognized as being the preferred choice for a Title Agency and a Search Services company for the Mid-Atlantic region encompassing Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
